“The written word has now become more my tool than the restless, soft pencil so often demobilized. At least in this way I try to shape my written statements. And if, at times, their tone is too harsh, I ask for forgiveness — it was always only in response to the resistance and pain of unfulfilled living ambitions, and the backward glance at a life slipping away under adverse circumstances.”
Poézia a Galeje

Poetry and Hardship
1994

Memoirs and reflections by Professor Kramár – a narrative of an architect’s life, with its rises and falls. A unique story of an extraordinary individual who achieved remarkable successes, yet whose fate was largely shaped by the socio-political events of the 20th century. The book not only recounts Kramár’s personal journey, but also reveals the corruption of the Stalinist regime of the 1950s, which tore apart families and relationships, and the quiet, insidious harm of the later Normalization. Reflecting on his life in his final years, Kramár offers a retrospective whose message remains strikingly powerful even today.
Art of Life
1993

In The Art of Life, Kramár offers a concise journey through key periods of architectural history, from antiquity to the long, forty-year stagnation, while sharing his own life and creative experiences. He provides a brief overview of the work of notable Slovak architects of the 20th century, such as Emil Belluš and Ferdinand Milučký, and reflects on the social role of the architectural profession. Kramár then sets out his personal view of architecture. For him, it was a lifelong calling. He saw it as the most important cultural expression of humanity and criticised its frequent misinterpretation and undervaluation in society.
